UIC Graduate Students are asked to submit a five to seven page paper addressing
the question: "What is social responsibility in research?"
Three papers will be selected for awards: $250 for first place, $150 for second,
and $100 for third. The top three papers will be presented at the Research Colloquium
on April 26, 2000, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The Clark Center is dedicated to
using social research to help poor communities share in the benefits of the
new information economy. Our primary research goal is explaining variation in
violence between neighborhoods and cities.
