Dr. Elijah Anderson to present seminars at UIC October 16 and 17

A reception sponsored by the African American Studies Progam and the Institute for Research in Race and Public Policy will follow the talk.

Mitchell Duneier of the Univesity of Wisconsin, and author of Sidewalk and Slim's Table will be among the respondents to Anderson's lecture.

Elijah Anderson is the Charles and William L. Day Professor of the Social Sciences and Professor of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, and director of the Philadephia Ethnography Project. He lives in Philadephia with his family.



Dr. Anderson will facilitate four training seminars on field work methods during his stay. The first will be held Monday morning, October 16th, and three more Tuesday October 17th.
The seminars will be open to graduate students and faculty by registration only. Topics for the seminars are being selected. Suggestions are welcome.
