As the CVL began their programs, Bobby Gore became the official spokesman. His good looks, congenial personality, and obvious sincerity won him accolades from the press, businessmen, politicians, and even the police. He had a no-nonsense attitude that got things done.

Bobby was the narrator in an article on the CVL as told to Basil Talbott Jr and was featured in many other articles.

Bobby, like other CVL leaders had to take on the job of facilitator, wearing many hats. Helping people who were evicted, trying to keep kids in school, and monitoring the programs that the CVL started. And he was peacemaker.
