Darryl Cannon- 42 minutes
|
The story of Darryl Cannon is a story of the deeply engrained racism and brutality of the Chicago Police. It is also a story of Omerta, of the Police Code of Slience that saw no officers testifying against Jon Burge and his doceumted 200 victims of police torture. Darryl's story is emotional and it is hard to imagine how someone who has been through the ordeals he dsecribes can maintain the dignity of poise he displayes. This is the meaning of war on gangs: no law, no civil or human rights, no humane standard of ethics. Brutality and demonization is the price of war. Chicago, and human beings like Darryl Cannon, have paid highly for this abhorrent poicy.
